Behavior targeted ads the new contextual ads?

Google started their AdSense program, and many other companies have tried to jump and the bandwagon and catch up. But a relatively new company has jumped into the fray by offering behavior targeted advertising - based upon participating advertiser’s cookies already on a computer - and definitely have potential… namely because the current AdSense terms state you cannot run competitive “content-targeted ads” on the same page, but there is nothing said about behavior targeted ads.

AudienceMatch Network (AMN) is the name of the program by Tacoda. They only launched in the middle of November, but the have announced relationships with USAToday.com (which also runs Kanoodle) and About.com (which also runs AdSense). But neither site appears to be running the new AudienceMatch as of yet. There are only 100 publishers, with plans to increase to 1000 within two months of launch.

I’m interested to watch and see where this one goes, and more importantly, if they will be opening this program up to smaller “non-premium” sized publishers. Some of the more promising contextual advertising programs unfortunately only accept the CNN and USAToday sized sites of the world.
