Chitika eMiniMalls search tab is compatible with AdSense

If you have disabled your eMiniMalls search tab in order to comply with AdSense terms and policies, you can re-enable it. Because it is not a web search tool, but only a product search tool within eMiniMalls, publishers are permitted to run AdSense on the same page as eMiniMalls with the search tab.

This is the line you can remove:

ch_nosearch = 1;

Do remember you still must turn off contextual targeting to comply with AdSense, if you plan to run both on the same page.

I'm curious Jen -- did you hear this directly from Google AdSense? There has been so much controversy over this.

We've seen no evidence that the Search tab violated Google's TOS, but we haven't seen anyone confirm this yet with a direct answer from Google. Thanks.

Chitika's code builder has been building placement code as "Adsense compliant" by default for at least the last two days.

A sensible move on their part, I think.

In the comments of your earlier post -

- Darren said that "I can confirm that you need to disable the search tab if you're using Adsense search." Please clarify your source of this information. Thanks.

Kevin,

Your site hyperlinked in your name in the comment above displays both Adsense and TargetFirst ads. If the TargetFirst ads are contextual, then Google will not be pleased with it being on the same page. I'm not familiar with how TargetFirst determines ad content, but it appears to be contextual.

Regarding TargetFirst - I'd take a look at http://www.targetfirstreview.com

With this guess Google violate his own TOS, even if its not a web search tool can be for sure named "query-targeted ads" and that are not allowed. Other thing its why G agree this Chitika as a parner and not other programs too.
