MSN & AOL referrers are most likely to click AdSense
November 3, 2005
I have often said that MSN traffic seems to me much more AdSense click happy than either Yahoo or Google traffic, based on my own sampling. And Jeremy Zawodny comments that the same is true in his own findings.
Whose users click most?
Digging a bit deeper, it’s intereting to look at the click through rate (CTR) for various sources. Here’s where the numbers get interesting. It seems that AOL and MSN users are more likely to click. Ask.com users aren’t far behind. Yahoo is in third place with Google trailing by a fair amount.
He also comments that his MSN traffic is still fairly low at this time, but that an increase in traffic could result in an upsurge of earnings.
MSN users are clearly the most valuable on an indivudal basis, but as a whole they don’t respresent much of my income. If more of my traffic came from MSN, that’s surely change. They’re followed by AOL, Yahoo, Ask.com, and then Google.
You can get all the details here. And while he doesn’t include earning specifics, there are some fancy charts to analyze instead.

“…but that an increase in traffic could result in an upsurge of earnings.”
When MSN Search traffic increases chances are it’s going to be users coming from Google or Yahoo, so chances of earnings increases proportionatly is slim.

It’s more than that simple. I don’t think it’s as much about the type of searcher as it is the SERPS.

Once, I read about referals from MSN and Yahoo are the most to “click” in your adsense, and guess what is the reason? Because MSN and YAHOO users are not end-users. Also I read a comparison about firefox and IE, and it says that IE users “clicks” more than Firefox users. That’s true? No one will know. It just depends on your site “Style”
